Both are premium Australian hardwoods, but they burn differently. Redgum burns hot with excellent coal production — ideal for wood heaters, open fireplaces, and slow-combustion stoves across the Macedon Ranges. Red Ironbark is denser than Redgum with a higher heat output and a slower burn rate. If you want a fire that lasts overnight without restocking — particularly useful in Gisborne and Woodend winters — Ironbark is the better choice. If you want the classic Australian firewood experience with great coals, Redgum is the proven favourite.

Yes. Every load MRFS delivers has been properly seasoned — dried for a minimum of 12 months. We never supply green or wet wood. Seasoned firewood burns hotter, cleaner, and more efficiently than freshly cut wood, and produces far less creosote in your flue. All MRFS firewood is loaded using a calibrated cubic metre bucket on our front-end loader — not by hand-stacked cubic metre. Hand-stacking can vary significantly between suppliers. Our calibrated system ensures every order is consistent and accurate. Firewood is delivered by tipper truck and tipped to your nominated spot. We do not offer customer pick-up from our yard.
